Awarded in the Princess Astrid International Music Competition and the Jorma Panula Conducting Competition, the Swiss conductor Elena Schwarz debuts at the head of Orquestra Sinfónica with a program that includes some of the main female composers from the 19th century to the present day. From France comes the music of the virtuoso pianist Louise Farrenc, the winner of the Prix de Rome, Lili Boulanger, and the member of the famous group Les Six, Germaine Tailleferre. The versatile pianist Claire Huangci, who quickly embarked on an international career after winning the Concours Géza Anda, will interpret the Concerto for piano and orchestra of Clara Schumann, a legendary figure of German Romanticism. The music of the American Joan Tower ends this concert in honor of all adventurous women.
