  • Who has never heard unforgettable songs like "Summertime" or "Bess, You Is My Woman Now", which have enjoyed multiple lives in the great voices of jazz and popular music? In reality, they are songs from Porgy and Bess, a revolutionary opera that fuses the European tradition with the folk culture of a black community of South Carolina. In this commented concert dedicated to George Gershwin, the audience will hear a symphonic painting that gathers several key moments of the opera and also An American in Paris, a symphonic poem that portrays the impressions of someone who visits the City of Light. Parisian tunes, street noises and even car horns create the scenario that also includes American sonorities, like the blues.
