Orquestra em Viana do Castelo
Praça de República, in Viana do Castelo, is rich in historical elements, standing out the fountain, the old Town Hall and the Misericórdia building, all dating from the 16th century. It is in this square that Orquestra Barroca Casa da Música presents itself with the prestigious conductor, violinist and countertenor Dmitry Sinkovsky. The evening begins with a dance symphony by Rebel, French Baroque composer who was prominent figure of the courts of Louis XIV and Louis XV. The festive atmosphere is present in Handel’s Water Music, written to accompany the British royal entourage on a trip down the River Thames. After France and England this magical journey ends in Italy with contagious melodies of Vivaldi, in a work that gives prominence to several wind instruments and the timpani.
